High temperature performance Specialty Alloy, Stainless steel A286, DIN 1.4980, UNS S66286, 660
characterized by
Meeting the requirements for high strength, corrosion resistance, high temperature creep resistance,
and performance in corrosive environments for fasteners.
We optimize the melting process to meet the stringent requirements of special standards for
high purity and high uniformity of materials, and simultaneously developing matching thermoforming
and heat treatment processes, stable mass production of the base material achieved.
Material Specifications
ASTM A638/A638M precipitation hardening iron base superalloy bars, forgings, and forging stock
for high temperature service, grade 660
ASTM A453/A453M high temperature bolting, with expansion coefficients comparable to
Austensitic stainless steels, grade 660, UNS S66286
Characteristics
High Temperature Use
Maintains excellent strength up to 1300°F (700°C) and oxidation resistance up to 1500°F (815°C).
Corrosion Resistance
Offers good corrosion resistance, especially in oxidizing and mildly reducing environments,
comparable to 304 and 316 stainless steel in many scenarios.
Cryogenic Use
Remains ductile and non-magnetic at cryogenic temperatures,
making it suitable for low-temperature applications as well.
Application
used in the aerospace, automotive, and oil & gas industries for components such as jet engines, turbines, and exhaust systems
Heat Treatment
Solution Annealing
performed at 1650°F (900°C) or 1800°F (980°C).
Age Hardening
A key step that provides the high-temperature strength properties, often done at 1325°F (720°C) for 16 hours.
Double Ageing
Used for enhanced stress rupture requirements, with specific hold times and temperatures.
